Person of Interest

I have something to say.

See, the thing is, nothing ever stays the same. Good begets bad, something lost leads to found, and so on and so forth. Things always have to go full cycle to restore the balance of the universe. That’s just how it is.

But. There’s always a but.

It’s not always like this. Some stuff, ladies and gentlemen, is very conveniently excused from this whole sometimes-high-sometimes-low rule of nature, just because. Things like these are what, in the end, become the reason a completely sane person is left scratching at the walls, trying to claw their way out of the mess.

No, it doesn’t help, if you are wondering. Scratching and clawing only does any amount of good to cats, people. We got to step it up a notch to make it through the mess.

See? Like the wise David Levithan says in his book Every Day:

At the end of the day, there is nothing else in the whole wide world except you who has to bear the brunt of everything, as and when it comes down to it. The blackness of the universe is an intimidating prospect, and to be able to push through it, each one of us need a little something and a special few someones in our lives.

When you find them, hold on tight to them. It will definitely not be easy to do that, but then again, what ever is?

You don’t have to love them, necessarily. You just have to accept and appreciate them, and then stand back and watch the magic unfold. I’m being really honest with you here, there is absolutely nothing like it.

Another thing.

Give people the benefit of the doubt, as long as you are even a teeny weeny bit certain that maybe, just maybe, things could get better from here on out. Do not expect, just believe. There is no way that I can emphasize this enough, but I’m going to go ahead and take shot at it anyway: memories matter, and moments matter. All else is just a way to get you from one Best Of Times to the next one.

I rest my case.

So yeah, if you realize that now you hear someone else’s heartbeat alongside yours, make sure you do everything in your power to keep them close. Sometimes, it may seem like the hardest thing to do, but well, if it doesn’t kill you (I’m talking the real deal here, involving flesh and gore), it’ll only make you stronger.

Just wait it out. Count the seconds if you have to, but do wait. Don’t abandon your faith.

Like I always say, it’s now, or it’s never.

Love,

Snigdha
